Brand Identity and Packaging Design
Client: Shimtim’s Brewery
Role: Freelance Designer
Shimtim’s Brewery was a start-up seeking a brand identity to help them enter the craft beer market with confidence. They had bold ideas for their beers but no visual direction to express the personality behind them. They needed a complete brand identity and packaging system that felt creative, memorable, and strong enough to compete on the shelf.
The Idea.
“Brewed with character.”
I wanted to build a bold, expressive identity that reflects each beer's unique personality. Use strong colour, hand drawn illustration, and playful storytelling to give the brand a lively, crafted feel. Each product would stand on its own while still forming a unified family.
The Execution.
I created a complete and cohesive brand identity for the start-up, encompassing the logo, colour palette, typeface, and illustration language. Each beer was assigned its own unique illustrated label, designed to highlight its distinct flavour profile and individual personality, ensuring each product stood out clearly on the shelf. I developed packaging systems for cans, bottles, and multipacks, carefully preparing all artwork for production to ensure visuals were reproduced accurately and consistently across various formats and finishes. The final identity provided the start-up with the confidence and clarity it needed to launch and establish its presence in the market successfully.

The packaging stood out immediately, making a strong impression and helping the start-up quickly make an impact with new customers and retailers alike.
